DEFINING STORIES, ROUND 9: Razgatlioglu’s French redemption as he takes Magny-Cours treble

Friday, 19 December 2025 08:26 GMT

Razgatlioglu had well and truly hit his stride by Round 9 of the 2025 season as he made it four consecutive hat-tricks

After a huge crash in 2024 at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours which dented his title hopes, there was only one way 2025 was going to go. Toprak Razgatlioglu was back at the French venue and on a mission as he looked for redemption, and he secured it in style in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship. He dominated the weekend as he made it 12 wins in a row with his fourth consecutive hat-trick – and put one hand on the 2025 title.

REDEMPTION IN THE BAG: A dominant Saturday performance from Razgatlioglu

After topping two of the three Free Practice sessions, Razgatlioglu headed into Tissot Superpole with the wind in his sails despite a hard-charging Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) – who won two races at Magny-Cours in 2024. ‘El Turco’ smashed the lap record with a 1’34.930s as he claimed pole position, two tenths clear of his title rival, putting him in the perfect starting place. He went on to lead every lap of the 21-lap race as he claimed victory by almost nine seconds ahead of Bulega, who was once again forced to settle for second.

FOUR TREBLES IN A ROW: ‘El Turco’ remains unbeaten

Sunday was more of the same for the #1, who – at one of his favourite circuits – managed to make it another hat-trick. He dominated both the Tissot Superpole Race and Race 2 as he made it 12 wins on the spin, putting him only one shy of his record winning run which he set in 2024 and that came to an end after his big crash in practice. He beat Bulega in both races, with the #11 in second, limiting the damage in the Championship standings as much as he could across the weekend but still giving up 13 points across the weekend.
